Scouts helping to spread some Christmas cheer
Dunning Scouts have embraced the Christmas spirit by dishing out free festive dinners to elderly locals. Around 15 Scouts joined local butcher Simon Howie in delivering 89 ready-to-eat meals to Dunning’s over-80s last week. In previous years, Dunning’s elderly community has enjoyed a Christmas party in the village hall, but Covid-19 restrictions forced the plans to be cancelled this year. Mr Howie said: “It was a superb effort and something we were so pleased to be part of.” Pictured with some of the children are, from left: Mr Howie, Susan Whyte (parent-leader), Judith Potter (parent-leader), and Nathan Critchlow-Watton (Scout Group leader).
