23 Dec 20
18 Dec 20

We're going to build a shelter in Kincladie Wood and need your support!

We submitted a planning application which is open for public comment until Thursday 24 September. We clearly want as many messages of support as possible: you can view the plans at https://planningapps.pkc.gov.uk/online-applications/search.do and search for '20/01082/FLL' or 'Kincladie'. You can also leave your messages of support in the Comments > Public section

Bear wants you

We will be having our annual gathering (online) before the end of this month, where you'll hopefully get to hear what your children have been up to this year (remember, there was normality before March...) as well as a brief AGM.

Ready for anything: marshmallows, sanitiser, tomahawks and first aid kit.

Scouting is now permitted outdoors, with some restrictions in place. Our meetings start 26 August and we have put a lot of effort into providing a very safe (and fun) environment.

Today we were awarded charitable status with the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

It doesn't change how we deliver Scouting in Dunning, but it demonstrates that we have charitable purposes and deliver benefits to the community. It does mean that we can now process all the Gift Aid declarations you will have made when signing your children up, so we hope that it will benefit the Group financially in the longer term.

Man digs hole. Other men watch (in awe?)

A busy day – as you can see by the number of dads busily involved on watching one dad dig out a tree root.

Workday in the woods building shelters and removing non-native trees. Then our first EGM to elect our exec. committee. Followed by a BBQ, investing our latest Cub leader, and awarding a lot of badges.
Theme of the day was removing a stump, very slowly.
Thanks to all the parents, Marteen (chair of DCT) and our DC Sean Thorpe for coming along.
