Announcement from Scouting UK:
17 Mar 20Given this [UK Government] guidance, all face-to-face Scout meetings, activities and events must be suspended from tomorrow, Tuesday, 17 March 2020. This suspension applies to young people and adults, and will be until further notice.
Today we were awarded charitable status with the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
It doesn't change how we deliver Scouting in Dunning, but it demonstrates that we have charitable purposes and deliver benefits to the community. It does mean that we can now process all the Gift Aid declarations you will have made when signing your children up, so we hope that it will benefit the Group financially in the longer term.
11 Mar 20A busy day – as you can see by the number of dads busily involved on watching one dad dig out a tree root.
Workday in the woods building shelters and removing non-native trees. Then our first EGM to elect our exec. committee. Followed by a BBQ, investing our latest Cub leader, and awarding a lot of badges.
Theme of the day was removing a stump, very slowly.
Thanks to all the parents, Marteen (chair of DCT) and our DC Sean Thorpe for coming along.
